An elderly man died from a fall during an Iranian missile attack earlier today, raising the death toll to 10, after nine Israelis were killed by a missile attack in Beit Shemesh.

The 102-year-old man was injured by a fall while he sought cover amid an Iranian missile attack. He died from his injuries several hours later, Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Hospital announced.

Forty-eight Iranian leaders have been killed in the ongoing U.S.-Israeli military operation against the Iranian regime, U.S. President Donald Trump told Fox News.

“Nobody can believe the success we’re having, 48 leaders are gone in one shot. And it’s moving along rapidly,” the president said.

17:12 - US used B-2 stealth bombers flying from Missouri to strike Iranian targets

Four B-2 bombers dropped "dozens" of 2000-pound penetrator bombs on Iranian underground ballistic missile facilities, U.S. officials confirmed to Fox News.

The strategic bombers took off from Whiteman Air Base in Missouri for an 18-hour trip to Iran and back, being refueled mid-air along the way. The operation is similar to last year's Operation Midnight Hammer, where the U.S. Air Force destroyed nuclear sites in Fordow.

16:59 - IDF destroys several Iranian military headquarters, including 'Tharallah' Internal Security HQ

The Israeli Air Force completed an additional wave of strikes targeting dozens of command centers and headquarters belonging to the Iranian terror regime, the IDF announced.

"As part of the strikes, the headquarters of the General Staff for Internal Security was struck. It served as a command-and-control hub responsible for linking the senior command echelon with the Iranian regime’s security forces on the ground and for directing the brutal repression of the Iranian people."

"Additionally, the Tharallah Headquarters, which was used as a defense command center in Tehran against military threats, was dismantled," the IDF said, stressing this would "further degrade the efforts of the Iranian terror regime to regroup."

"The extensive wave of strikes deepens the Iranian terror regime’s command and control capabilities, while degrading key headquarters and centers."

"As of 9:30 am ET, March 1, three U.S. service members have been killed in action and five are seriously wounded as part of Operation Epic Fury," U.S. CENTCOM announced.

"Several others sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions – and are in the process of being returned to duty. Major combat operations continue and our response effort is ongoing. The situation is fluid, so out of respect for the families, we will withhold additional information, including the identities of our fallen warriors, until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified."

16:34 - US CENTCOM sinks Iranian corvette in Gulf of Oman

American forces sank an Iranian warship during the start of military operations on Saturday, the U.S. Central Command announced.

"An Iranian Jamaran-class corvette was struck by U.S. forces during the start of Operation Epic Fury. The ship is currently sinking to the bottom of the Gulf of Oman at a Chah Bahar pier. As the President said, members of Iran’s armed forces, IRGC and police 'must lay down your weapons.' Abandon ship."

16:23 - Iran claims to have fired four missiles at US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claims it launched four ballistic missiles at the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, which is reportedly in the Arabian Sea and took part in the military strikes against the regime.

The U.S. hasn't confirmed such an attack and there is no confirmation of damage to the carrier or of any casualties.

16:04 - Beit Shemesh death toll rises to 9, most victims were in public shelter when Iranian missile hit

The death toll from the missile impact in Beit Shemesh has risen to nine, Israeli media reported. Most of the victims were in a public shelter below a synagogue building when the missile hit directly, the Jerusalem District police chief said.

“As far as I know… it was likely a direct impact on the shelter and most, if not all of those killed, were in there,” said Deputy Commissioner Avshalom Peled, noting that the 12-Day War last year had shown that many shelters are unable to sustain a direct hit by a ballistic missile.

However, he urged civilians to follow the instructions by the Home Front Command, emphasizing, “Those located in a protected area when the damage isn’t direct, which is the majority of cases, are indeed shielded from the missile or debris that flies through the air."

15:50 - Iranian President Pezeshkian says interim leadership council started working in first public address

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the nation in his first public speech since the start of the war this weekend.

In the prerecorded, televised address, he announced that an interim team had begun work on Sunday. The team is comprised of Pezeshkian, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi and the head of the judiciary, Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei.

Iran’s military would continue attacking “enemy bases,” he added, urging supporters of the Islamic Republic to maintain a visible presence in public spaces and mosques.

15:26 - Former Iranian President Ahmadinejad killed in Israeli airstrike

The former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Saturday, Israeli media reported, citing several reports by Iranian opposition-aligned outlets.

Ahmadinejad served as president from 2005 to 2013, and became well-known for his particularly toxic antisemitism, including the open denial of the Holocaust and consistent calls to destroy Israel.

15:18 - Beit Shemesh death toll rises to 8

The death toll from the missile impact in Beit Shemesh has risen to eight, the Magen David Adom rescue services said.

In addition, there are two people in serious condition, two in moderate and 24 in good condition who are being treated in various hospitals.

Rescue services are still scanning the scene and are searching for twenty missing people, though they noted that this doesn't necessarily mean they were wounded.

The missile hit a synagogue building and a public shelter underneath it. The synagogue building was completely destroyed, the town's mayor said.

15:00 - UAE: 3 dead, 58 wounded after Iran fired 165 missiles and 35 drones

The Defense Ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that three people were killed and 58 were wounded by Iranian attacks so far. The three victims were citizens of Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh.

It added that the Iranian regime so far launched 165 ballistic missiles, 35 of which were intercepted within the country's territory, and 541 Iranian drones.

14:48 - Kuwait: 1 dead, 32 wounded after Iran fired 97 missiles and 283 drones

Kuwait’s Ministry of Health announced that one person was killed and 32 were wounded so far by Iranian attacks since yesterday. All of the injured and the deceased are foreign nationals.

The national military said the Iranian regime had so far launched a total of 97 ballistic missiles and 238 drones at Kuwait, some of whom were intercepted by air defenses.

14:42 - 5 dead in Beit Shemesh missile impact

Five Israelis succumbed to wounds sustained by an Iranian missile impact in the town of Beit Shemesh earlier today, Israeli media reported.

"Home Front Command search and rescue forces, together with numerous medical teams and a helicopter for casualty evacuation, are currently operating at the impact site in Beit Shemesh. The Commander of the Home Front Command is on his way to the scene," the IDF stated.

"The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit clarifies that following a review, the early warning system functioned as planned and was activated in the Beit Shemesh area of impact. The circumstances of the impact are under review."

14:27 - Rescue services: Around 20 injured in Beit Shemesh, including three in critical condition

The missile that hit Beit Shemesh wounded around 20 people, including three who are in critical condition, while another person was seriously wounded, one is in moderate condition and 14 suffered light injuries, according Magen David Adom.

14:12 - At least 4 Israelis critically wounded by missile impact in Beit Shemesh

At least four Israelis, including a young girl, were wounded by the impact of an Iranian missile in the town of Beit Shemesh, Israeli media reported.

First responders are treating at least five others for lighter injuries and continue to scan the area for potentially buried people.

12:11 - Defense Minister Katz: Uninterrupted air bridge to strike Tehran targets

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that an uninterrupted aerial campaign will now target sites in Tehran, following the latest wave of Israeli Air Force strikes.

In a statement, Katz said that “from now on, an unceasing air bridge will operate to carry out powerful strikes against key targets in Tehran,” signaling an intensification of Israel’s military operations. (Ynet)

10:20 - IAF carrying out extensive airstrikes in Iran

The Israeli Air Force is carrying out an extensive wave of airstrikes against “targets of the Iranian terror regime in the heart of Tehran,” the IDF announced.

"The Air Force, guided by Military Intelligence, has now launched a broad wave of strikes toward targets of the Iranian terror regime in the heart of Tehran," the IDF said.

Over the past day, the Air Force conducted extensive strikes to achieve air superiority and open the path to Tehran, the military spokesman stated.

10:15 - Sirens sound across Israel in latest missile barrage

Sirens sounded across a large swath of Israel after ballistic missile fire from Iran was detected. Affected areas included the Golan Heights, Haifa Bay area, and central Israel, including Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem, down to Ashkelon near the Gaza border.

09:20 - Iranian Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani says country to be lead by leadership council

The secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, an advisor to Supreme Leader Khamenei, announced: "In accordance with the constitution, a leadership council will be established that will take on the responsibility of the Supreme Leader until his successor is chosen,” Tasnim News reported.

“An interim leadership council will soon be formed. The president, the head of the judiciary and a jurist from the Guardian Council will assume responsibility until the election of the next leader,” Larijani said.

“This council will be established as soon as possible. We are working to form it as early as today,” he said in an interview broadcast by state TV.

07:40 - DM Katz praises Netanyahu for elimination of Khamenei

Defense Minister Israel Katz praised the elimination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a statement this morning, saying, "The tyrant Khamenei was thwarted in the opening blow of 'Operation Roaring Lion' and, with him, other senior figures in the Iranian terrorist stronghold."

"Those who worked to destroy Israel were destroyed. Justice was done and the axis of evil suffered a fatal blow," he stated.

Katz also congratulated Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his "leadership and determination" and the IDF for its "brilliant performance." He added, "We will continue to act with all our might to defend the State of Israel."

07:35 - Trump warns IRGC against retaliation

U.S. President Donald Trump responded to the IRGC threats of retaliation by warning that if targeted, the U.S. “will hit them with a force that has never been seen before.” 

“Iran just stated that they are going to hit very hard today, harder than they have ever hit before. THEY BETTER NOT DO THAT, HOWEVER, BECAUSE IF THEY DO, WE WILL HIT THEM WITH A FORCE THAT HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE! Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” Trump posted to his Truth Social account.

05:35 - U. & Israel targeted Khamenei's residence with over 30 bombs

According to the Wall Street Journal, Israeli and U.S. military intelligence had long waited for an opportunity to target senior political and military leaders in Iran during a meeting – where they could all be killed at once. This opportunity came on Saturday morning – when Israeli intelligence officers identified not just one, but three meetings – including with Khamenei.

According to the report, the moment was so unique that it was decided to attack in broad daylight, and U.S. and Israeli planes dropped 30 bombs on Khamenei's residence, leaving it scorched and shattered. 

Israel has also claimed to have killed a number of other top political and military officials including Ali Shamkhani, a top security adviser to Khamenei; Mohammad Pakpour, commander of the powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps; and Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh. 

04:45 - IRGC threatens revenge on U.S. and Israel over killing of Khamenei

After the official announcement in Iran of the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned, "The Iranian people will continue to extend their hand for revenge, and the necks of the murderers will not escape a harsh, decisive and deterrent punishment. We will resolutely continue in the path of our leader, defend his precious legacy, and stand firmly and conspiracies, both internal and external, we will punish the attackers of the Islamic homeland in a deterrent manner.” 

“The hand of revenge of the Iranian nation for a severe, decisive and regrettable punishment for the murderers of the Imam of the Ummah will not let go of them,” the IRGC said in a statement.

The IRGC also warned that "the most brutal offensive operation in the history of Iran's armed forces will begin in a short time against the occupied territories and American terrorist bases.” 

04:10 - IAF strikes over 30 targets in Iran

The IDF reported that the Israeli Air Force has completed an attack on over 30 targets in Iran.

"Dozens of fighter jets attacked under the direction of Military Intelligence and recently completed another wave of attacks to damage the Iranian terror regime's ballistic missile system and air defense systems in western and central Iran," the IDF spokesperson said.

He said the strikes targeted more than 30 sites in western and central Iran, including aerial defense systems, missile launchers, regime targets and military command centers.

"The IDF will continue to degrade the Iranian terror regime’s capabilities until they can no longer threaten our people," he stated.

According to a report in CBS News, U.S. aircraft participated in the strikes.

03:45 - Iranian state TV officially announces Khamenei's death

While the news had been reported in other Iranian news outlets, Iran's state television officially announced that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in Israeli and U.S. airstrikes.

The report said Khamenei was at his compound in downtown Tehran when the initial strikes occurred.

Khamenei's death at his office “showed that he consistently stood among the people and at the forefront of his responsibilities, confronting what officials call global arrogance,” the state TV broadcast said.

The report also announced 40 days of public mourning.

Reports on social media continue to show celebrations among the Iranian populace as the news about Khamenei's death has spread across the country.

CBS News reported that about 40 senior Iranian officials have been killed in the Israeli and U.S. airstrikes in the Islamic Republic which started on Saturday morning.

02:45 - US Secretary of War Hegseth threatens Iran

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth posted a warning to the Iranian regime on social media citing the regime's failure to negotiate a deal, and stating on his official 𝕏 account, "We (the US) will not tolerate powerful missiles targeting the American people. Those missiles will be destroyed, along with Iran’s missile production. The Iranian navy will be destroyed. And, as President Trump has said his entire life, Iran will never have a nuclear weapon."

02:30 - Iranian media confirms Khamenei's death

Iranian state media officially confirmed the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in the US-Israeli strikes in Iran on Saturday.

While U.S. President Donald Trump and a senior Israeli official had reported Khamenei's death, Tehran had initially resisted confirming the report.

Ali Khamenei's daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter were also killed in the airstrikes, according to reports by the Iranian news agency Mehr. The confirmation was received from sources at the Supreme Leader's residence, the outlet said.

01:50 - IAF targets ballistic missile launchers in Iran

The IAF struck a missile launch site in the Qom area in Central Iran, the IDF reported.

The strike targeted a site that stored Ghadr H-1 ballistic missiles carrying hundreds of pounds of explosives. The strike will prevent additional launches that pose a threat to the civilians of the State of Israel and the broader Middle East, the military said.

01:35 - Renewed missile and drone barrages following announcement of Khamenei’s death 

Following the official announcement of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s death by the Israeli government, Iran renewed ballistic missile and drone attacks on the Jewish State. 

Sirens were heard across the country after the barrage of missiles were detected. 

The IDF reported the interception of three Iranian drones; two in the Golan and northern Galilee, and one in the south of the country.

There were no reports of casualties.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s planned visit to Israel has been canceled due to the current war with Iran. Secretary Rubio had been expected to visit Israel to discuss the Iran threat and the status of negotiations between the U.S. and the Islamic Republic, among other things.
