Amid Iran tensions, IDF reiterates: No change in guidelines, military is ready to defend the country

Like the two previous weekends, IDF Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Effie Defrin addressed the Israeli public shortly before the start of the Jewish Sabbath, stressing that there is no indication of an imminent escalation with Iran and that the military stands ready.

"The IDF continues to operate at all borders, at all times, for the security of the citizens of the State of Israel," Defrin said.

"This Shabbat, like those before it, I wish to emphasize and reassure: We are vigilant and monitoring developments at all times. There is no change in the guidelines. If a change occurs, we will update accordingly."

Amid rumors and false reports circulating online, Defrin stressed that the public should "heed only the instructions of the IDF Spokesperson, Home Front Command, and the authorized authorities. I am here with you and will update as necessary."

"I am wishing all the people of Israel a peaceful and quiet Shabbat," Defrin concluded.
