Home Front Command chief: Evacuation of north and south during war was a mistake
Maj.-Gen. Shai Klapper, head of the IDF Home Front Command, said in a closed session of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that the decision to evacuate residents from the north and south during the “Swords of Iron” war was, in hindsight, a mistake.
According to participants, cited Thursday by Kan News (Reshet Bet), Klapper said the decision to evacuate has not yet been formally reviewed, but “in our view, it was wrong, in retrospect,” adding that the matter is expected to be examined soon.
