Indonesian president criticized for sending troops to Gaza and 'serving Israel’s goals’
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is facing mounting criticism at home over plans to send thousands of troops to Gaza as part of an international force and to join Donald Trump’s Gaza Peace Council, Kan News reported Tuesday.
Subianto has sought to reassure Muslim leaders that Indonesia will withdraw if the initiative fails to advance Palestinian goals.
An Indonesian journalist told Kan News that critics see the move as serving Israel’s interests, especially if Indonesian troops confront Hamas while Israel continues its actions in the Palestinian territories.
