Israel’s Supreme Court President: If public officials ignore rulings, why should citizens comply?
Israel’s Supreme Court president Yitzhak Amit on Tuesday addressed a bar admission ceremony, defending the judicial system amid criticism from politicians tied to proposed judicial reform.
He warned that such attacks undermine the very idea of an equal and binding legal system, saying: “Eroding the principle of equal justice for all strikes at the heart of the rule of law. The message is simple: if the law is not equal for everyone, then the law is worth nothing.”
