Mass protest in Tel Aviv over violence in Arab society
About 40,000 people rallied Saturday night at Habima Square in Tel Aviv to protest surging violence in Israel’s Arab community and what they described as the government’s failure to stem the rising death toll since the start of 2026.
Hours earlier, a man was shot dead in the city of Lod and two others were wounded — one critically — in a family dispute, bringing the number of Arab murder victims this year to 27.
The protest, billed as a Jewish-Arab march of outrage, drew bereaved families who accused authorities of failing to ensure personal security.
