Mediterranean Storm Daniel arrives in Israel bringing first rain and minor street damage
THe Mediterranean storm, Daniel, which caused disastrous flooding in Libya yesterday, reached Israel early this morning.
The storm, which had lost much of its intensity, brought the first rain of the season, as well as some causing delays in traffic.
The heavy rain in the coastal areas caused damage to a street in Herzliya when a hole opened in the street due to erosion from the rains.
Several beaches were also closed due to heavy waves and strong currents caused by the storm.
Authorities hope the rains will help with a fire near the Sea of Galilee.
