US aircraft carrier & strike group arrive in Middle East, CENTCOM confirms

Amid ongoing tensions with Iran, the U.S. military said that the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group arrived in the Middle East on Monday, confirming several earlier reports.

US CENTCOM published pictures of sailors on board the carrier, writing, "Sailors aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) perform routine maintenance as the aircraft carrier sails in the Indian Ocean, Jan. 26. The Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed to the Middle East to promote regional security and stability."

Unconfirmed reports stated that the carrier was spotted off the coast of Oman.
