New PM, new president hold first working meeting

New Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and newly sworn-in President Isaac Herzog held their first working meeting today where they discussed national security and social divisions ailing Israeli society.

Herzog was sworn into office last week and Bennett has been prime minister for just over a month now.

The two noted that many of the major challenges facing the nation stem from the COVID pandemic. They issued a joint call for the public to heed Health Ministry guidelines and to get vaccinated.
