Meanwhile, Iranian state media claimed Khamenei was expected to deliver a TV address, though it is possible that such a message was recorded in advance.

Kan News also cited Reuters reports stating that the Iranian Defense Minister and the commander of the IRGC were eliminated in Israeli strikes.

The IDF called on Israelis across northern Israel, including the Golan Heights, almost the entire Galilee region, the greater Haifa area and other nearby towns, to enter their shelters after another launch of missiles from Iran was identified.

While Iranian missile strikes so far only managed to lightly wound one Israeli, missile impacts have reportedly killed four people in Syria and one person in Dubai, UAE.

Israeli media reported that an errant missile impact in the southern Syrian city of Suweida, which is relatively near the Israeli border, killed four people and wounded several others. Another missile impact reportedly killed at least one person in Dubai.

Oman's foreign minister, Badr al-Busaidi, who had mediated in the negotiations between the U.S. and Iran until Thursday, said he was "dismayed" by the war.

"Active and serious negotiations have yet again been undermined. Neither the interests of the United States nor the cause of global peace are well served by this. And I pray for the innocents who will suffer. I urge the United States not to get sucked in further. This is not your war," he wrote on 𝕏.

In an interview that aired on CBS on Friday, Busaidi had expressed considerable optimism regarding the talks.

We likewise reject the actions of the Iranian regime and the Revolutionary Guard."

Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, said that the "developments in Iran are greatly concerning... Ensuring nuclear safety and preventing any actions that could further escalate tensions or undermine the global non-proliferation regime is of critical importance."

"The European Union has adopted extensive sanctions in response to the actions of Iran’s murderous regime and the Revolutionary Guards and has consistently promoted diplomatic efforts aimed at addressing the nuclear and ballistic programmes through a negotiated solution... We call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint, to protect civilians, and to fully respect international law," she added.

The NSC also reiterated warnings against sharing real-time travel details on social media, and urged to avoid public events that are identified with Israel or Judaism.

13:30 - Lufthansa group cancels all flights to Israel and more across the Middle East, Beirut airport closes

The Lufthansa group said it will suspend all flight connections to and fromBen-Gurion International Airport, outside of Tel Aviv, until March 7, citing the “current situation in the Middle East.”

The group includes Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings. Flights were canceled in Tel Aviv Amman, Erbil, Tehran and Beirut.

The airport in the Lebanese capital reportedly cancelled all flights for Saturday, including those to Europe.

For the past month, Shamkhani has also held another position – secretary general of Iran's Defense Council, which was established after the previous war in June.
